Flowers
I think it's visible through my work that I just adore flowers. They're like scattered treasure. You don't know when you might see some and they can survive in the most unlikely locations. The colours and variety are just a treat for the senses. The smell of freesia or roses travelling through a warm spring air is just incredible. It's funny how a smell can make someone so happy or bring back so many memories. I tend to use watercolour more than oil for my floral works. I feel the loose movement of the paint and water best suits the subject. A flower is never completely still, it isn't stiff or stuck in one place. I apply this idea to my work.
